Industrial Policy Resolution – 2015 and Odisha Food Processing Policy – 2016

• New industrial units with contract demand up to 100 KVA will be exempted from the payment of electricity duty for a period of 5 years from the date of availing power supply for commercial production.

• Electricity tariff reimbursement of INR 0.25 to INR 1.25 per unit for a period of 5 years depending on investment and employment generated provided a minimum investment of INR 50 crore and a minimum employment of 75 people

• Electricity duty exemption for 5 years upto a contract demand of 5 MVA

Capital Investment Subsidy for setting up Cold Chain, Value addition and Preservation Infrastructure for non-horticultural produce and For Primary Processing Centers / Collection Centers for both horticultural and non-horticultural produce

• 35% up to Rs. 5 crore for cold chain, value addition and preservation infrastructure for non-horticultural produce or for primary processing centers/collection centers for all produce

Assistance for Reefer Vehicles

• Financial assistance in the form of credit linked back-ended subsidy @ 35% of the cost of standalone New Reefer Vehicle(s) / Mobile pre-cooling van(s) up to a maximum of Rs.25.00 lakh shall be provided for carrying & transporting both Horticultural & non-Horticultural produce.

Assistance to entrepreneurs

• Industrial units will be encouraged for filing patent of their research and State will provide assistance to entrepreneurs for Patent and Intellectual Property Right (IPR) provisions @ 50% of the expenditure up to maximum of Rs.5.00 lakh.

Assistance for Mega Food Park:

• Up to 20% of the project cost limited to Rs. 15 crore provided to SPV or as equity participation

Assistance to ULBs for Modernization of Meat Shops

• 35% of cost of machinery up to Rs. 5 lakh
• 50% of cost of machinery up to Rs. 5 lakh in industrially backward districts KBK

Assistance for Human Resource Development

• One time grant @50% of the cost up to Rs. 1 crore to University/Institute for courses in Food Processing

• Rs. 3 lakh per ESDP to Govt. ITIs/Polytechnics for conducting 30 days certification program on Food Processing.

No stamp duty will be required to be paid in respect of land allotted by the Government to IDCO. But stamp duty @ 5% will be required to be paid in respect of transfer of land/shed by Government and IDCO to industrial units. This will also be applicable in respect of private land acquired by IDCO, which is subsequently allotted to industrial units.

Quality Certification

• High priority is being accorded by the State Government for improvement of quality of the industrial units and will be provided with assistance for obtaining quality certification from B.I.S and other internationally recognized Institutions @ 50% of the expenditure up to maximum of Rs. 2.00 lakh.

Patent Registratio

• Industrial units will be encouraged for filing patent of their research and State will provide assistance to entrepreneurs for Patent and Intellectual Property Right (IPR) provisions @ 50% of the expenditure up to maximum of Rs.5.00 lakh.
